Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on Thursday urged the German entrepreneurs to invest more in Bangladesh taking the advantage of the cheap labour and other facilities the country is currently providing.
She made the call when Member of the German Parliament Dr Hans-Peter Uhi met her at her office.
PM’s Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim briefed reporters after the meeting.
The Prime Minister mentioned the economic cooperation and bilateral trade of the two countries, saying her government has been setting up some 100 economic zones across the country to woe more investment to spur the economic growth.
She also recalled the contributions of Germany during the War of Liberation of Bangladesh and her last visit to the country this year.
Noting that the current Bangladesh-Germany relations are very strong, the German MP apprised the Prime Minister of the present state of MoU signed between the two countries on E-passport project on the government-to-government basis.
The Prime Minister instructed all concerned to speedily implement the project.
PM’s International Affairs Adviser Dr Gowher Rizvi, State Minister for Foreign Affairs M Shahriar Alam and PM’s Principal Secretary Dr Kamal Abdul Naser Chowdhury were, among others, present.
